An Ox Stand on my Tongue asks what if the infamous femme fatale and vilified husband murderer had actually once believed in an idealised domestic dream? What compelled them to justify – or to suppress – the experiences they had endured?

​Shondelle has been invited this month to participate in the Educators Advocate Program for Theatre Intimacy Education. The brilliant organisation run by Professor Chelsea Pace and Laura Rickard  invite a small handful of international educators who work in the area of intimacy choreography and consent in vulnerable scene work, to practice methodology with acting  students, learning new practices in embodied teaching.

INTIMACY Director, Carrie Regal Musical Society - June 2023
This was a delightful full circle moment for Shondelle as she choreographed the Australian premiere of Carrie with Director Jay-James Moody for Squabalogic many years ago. Being able to share principles of consent as an intimacy director on this project was extremely rewarding. All storytellers, whether they are community theatre groups like the Regals or institutions like the National Institute of Dramatic Art deserve best practice.

This month, Shondelle will be working with incredible Western Sydney artist, writer and film maker Bina Bhattacharya in her debut feature film, From All Sides. From All Sides’ stars Monique Kalmar (‘Shantaram’, ‘Heartbreak High’, ‘The Bump’) as Anoushka, and Heath Ledger scholarship finalist Max Brown (‘The Gloaming’, ‘Retrograde’, ‘Glitch’) as her bisexual husband Pascal.

Shondelle had a brilliant time with the cast of Pakemin's newest musical, Kinky Boots. This promises to be an amazing show coming to the Riverside Theatre in September 2022.

Shondelle has just finished working with Opera Australia and director Joey McKneely as the Intimacy Coordinator on their production of West Side Story. This show is currently at Crown Perth through to July 17th and then onto QPAC in Brisbane from July 24th.
Movement Workshop  Griffin Theatre Company Ambassadors Program - June 2021
Shondelle had an incredible time working with  the next generation of theatre makers at Griffin Theatre Company.  Griffin Ambassadors is an annual access-all-areas program for year 10 to 12 students supported by the Robertson Foundation. The year-long program is stocked with a hearty menu of workshops, performances and access to industry professionals, all geared to support the next generation of theatre-goers and theatre-makers.
 NIDA Workshop MFA Directing students  - May 2021
Shondelle had an inspiring time working with NIDA MFA Directing students and discussing intimacy in theatre and techniques for embodied practice. Special thanks to Dr Benjamin Schostakowski, Head of Directing, for organising this  workshop.

Shondelle will be working with director Sylvia Marie Keays and writer Dr. Daniel Widdowson of Salthouse Creative on the evocative play Rape and Other Acceptable Practices. The play is premiering at the Art House Wyong, before touring NSW and ACT.

Shondelle is excited to work with a group of incredible artists  on Deb Mulhall's tribute to the ANZACS, Breathless .  The show will be at the New Theatre on ANZAC Day at 2pm.

Claudia Barrie - Mad March Hare Theatre Company and Shondelle will team up again to work with the graduating students of The Actors Centre in  George Farquhar's hilarious comedy, The Beaux  Stratagem. 
CHOREOGRAPHER: OUTDATED  - March 2021
Shondelle had a ball with actors Rachel Gordon and Yalin Ozucelik at the Ensemble Theatre.  Director Mark Kilmurray requested some very fun choreography for Outdated, his new play.  Review
ACTOR: PARENT UP -  March 2021
Shondelle is excited to jump on board the upcoming children's show 'Parent -Up' with Aquarius films. Justine Flynn created the 10-part series, which she wrote with Tiffany Zehnal, Tristram Baumber, Michelle Lim Davidson, Melissa Lee Speyer, Undi Lee, David Park, Alice McCredie-Dando, Sophia Chung, and Hyun Lee.  The show will premiere on ABC later this year.
INTIMACY COORDINATOR: THE CITY  - February 2021
Oliver Wakelin and Drew Livingston's  new Australian work The City is now in full swing as Director/Choreographer Christie Koppe  steps into tech rehearsals next week.  Shondelle was invited to workshop rehearsal protocols for intimacy  with the ensemble and work as an Intimacy Director.   Tickets can be purchased at the Sydney Opera House for the 25th and 26th of February. 
INTIMACY COORDINATOR AND CHOREOGRAPHER: YELLOW FACE  - February 2021
Shondelle is excited about working on David Henry Hwang's Yellow Face with director, writer and dramaturg Tasnim Hossain  and Dinosaurs Productions.  It will run at KXT from the 23rd of April to the 8th of May. 
PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK  - October 2020
Shondelle did a number of choreography sessions with Director Sahn Millington  and the cast of Picnic at Hanging Rock. It's currently on at the New Theatre until December 19.

CONSENT IN THE REHEARSAL ROOM WORKSHOP  - September 2020
Shondelle had a blast with the Pakemin Productions "We Will Rock You" cast as the facilitator for "Consent in the Rehearsal Space." A series of workshops designed around the Intimacy On Set principles of touch & consent. A special thank you is needed for Director & Producer Neil Gooding for his invitation. Also an enormous thank you to the "We Will Rock You" Director Wayne Scott Kermond, Choreographer Katie Kermond & Production Manager Jordan Vassallo.
INTIMACY COORDINATOR IN TRAINING  - July 2020
Shondelle is currently in training with Ita O'Brien to become a certified Intimacy Coordinator with Intimacy On Set. She is looking for opportunities to work with filmmakers under the mentorship of Ita O'Brien. This is an exciting opportunity. You can find more information on Ita's latest projects here. The Australia Council Career Development Grant  - May 2020
Shondelle has been awarded a Career Development Grant to study Intimacy directing. This will involve  interviewing  intimacy choreographers, coordinators and directors and studying the methodology and pedagogy of intimacy. This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body.
MIKE WALSH FELLOWSHIP RECIPIENT  - December 2019
This month Shondelle was awarded the Mike Walsh Fellowship and will be travelling to the UK in January 2020 to work with Christopher Davies and the team at Bamboozle Theatre Company in Leicester. Their work explores the creation of immersive theatrical experiences for young neurodiverse and neuronormative audiences. You can read about her upcoming experiences in January. 
DIRECTING SHOWCASE: VICTORIAN COLLEGE OF THE ARTS, MELBOURNE - October 2019
Shondelle's new children's show Wombats Wild Weekend will be debuting this month. It is an immersive, multi-sensory musical for neurodiverse children aged 2-5 years old and their carers. The show has been adapted from the play of the same name by Wayne Tunks and originally produced by Em's Entertainment. It will debut as part of a 6month residency into inclusive, accessible theatre practice with Aurora School for Deaf and Deaf Blind children in Blackburn South, Victoria. 
SEASON TWO TABLE READ BENT 101, FUNDING FROM SCREEN AUSTRALIA  - August 2019
Brilliant news as Shondelle and Jane Eakin sat down this week thanks to a grant from Screen Australia to do the table read for Bent 101 - Season 2!!! Lots of familiar faces and incredible actors to spend the day with.

​Shondelle will be interning with director Neil Gooding on the children's musical The Red Tree (based on the Shaun Tan book) for the National Theatre of Parramatta in Melbourne.

​Shondelle will be the Resident Director for the Melbourne season of Bring It On, The Musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Tom Kitt & Amanda Green for David Venn Enterprises in Melbourne.
ACCESSIBILITY CO-ORDINATOR: CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN - July 2019
​Shondelle will be working alongside director Claudia Barrie again as an Accessibility Co-Ordinator for The Cripple of Inishmaan at The Old Fitz.
DIRECTING INTERNSHIP WITH MICHAEL KANTOR - May 2019
​Shondelle will be interning with director Michael Kantor on The David Bowie music theatre work, Lazarus for The Production Company in Melbourne.
INTIMACY DIRECTING FOR GIRL IN THE MACHINE - May 2019
This month Shondelle is working with director Claudia Barrie and The National Theatre of Parramatta as an Intimacy Co-Ordinator for Stef Smith's scifi drama Girl in the Machine.
CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT FOR WOMBATS WILD WEEKEND - April 2019
​Shondelle will begin a creative development on an adapted, immersive, multi-sensory musical for young children 2-5 years old and their carers. Based on the play  Wombat's Wild Weekend by Wayne Tunks and produced by Em's Entertainment, Shondelle has been given permission to adapt the show and write new compositions by Shondelle and Composer Daniele Buatti.
DIRECTING OBSERVERSHIP WITH JENN THOMPSON - March-April 2019
​Shondelle has been in East Haddam, CT, USA completing a Directing Observership with Goodspeed Musicals & director Jenn Thompson , choreographer Patti Wilcox and Musical Director Michael O'Flaherty on their latest production, The Music Man.
CHOREOGRAPHER FOR FAT MUSICALS - February 2019
​This February Shondelle will join forces with director Anthea Williams and internationally award winning cabaret artists Maeve Marsden and Libby Wood as they explore body politics in the hilarious Australian premiere of a new show Fat Musicals . .Presented by Darlinghurst Theatre Company in association with the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras as part of the line up for Comedy Kiki. 
MOVEMENT DIRECTOR : METAMORPHOSIS- January-February 2019
​This month Shondelle is working as Movement Director on Clock and Spiels production of Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis adapted by David Farr and Gisli Gardarsson. Directed by Amanda Stephens-Lee with designs by Lucy McCougllough and mask work by Luke D'Alessandro. Seen at The Chippen St theatre in Sydney.  ​

​This December, Shondelle was chosen as one of only four directors to attend the Equity Foundation workshops & seminars in Adelaide with the world's leading Intimacy Co-Ordinator, Ita O'Brien.
DIRECTING FELLOWSHIP WITH PING CHONG - September-October 2018
​Shondelle was touring with the internationally award-winning, New York based Ping Chong and Company throughout Alaska, USA as a Directing Fellow on their touring productions of Alaxsxa | Alaska and Beyond Sacred : Voices of Muslim Identity.
INTIMACY CHOREOGRAPHER FOR VCA DIRECTORS SHOWCASE - September 2018
Shondelle is currently working in Melbourne as a choreographer with talented director Sara Biglariafshar in her Masters of Directing graduation showcase of the absurdist tragic farce, The Chairs by Eugene Ionesco. Performances will be in October at The Victorian College of The Arts (VCA).
INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCE AT IPAY IN PHILADELPHIA  January 2018
Off the back of their recent National tour of Jackie French's Children's Book Diary of a Wombat, Monkey Baa Theatre Company has been invited to perform at the international Performing Arts for Youth conference in Philadelphia, USA. Shondelle will be leaving in January to perform in the show.
